With people seeming grosser than normal, the indoors has never seemed better. However, being indoors can become a trap. It is widely recognised that a lack of sunlight and ‘fresh air’ can have potentially harmful effects of mental health and productivity. It is important to find time (and the courage) to brave the outside world, take in some sunlight and exercise.

Choosing low traffic times or low traffic areas is the best way to stay well away from people this coronavirus season. If this is still too much for the more than mildly introverted among you, there is always the option of using balconies windows and at last resort, roofs for your sun.

Exercising indoors is far easier than finding sun. Some ways I personally try to remain active inside are yoga, tai chi, circuit workouts and stretching. Yes, even something as simple as stretching can be beneficial to your mental health and overall fitness.

Exercising indoors has been made even easier with the new addition of a lot of apps. Nike Training Club, Down Dog apps and Planet Fitness are all completely free to use during the coronavirus period. There are plenty more apps of all types releasing free content, so I recommend having a look. And, if you still have time to burn you can do some of my favourite indoor activities usually include eating, reading and cuddling.

Also, my favourite productive indoor activities include reading something factual, eating healthy food and cuddling someone. No, serious: books are food for your mind, food is food for your body and cuddles are food for your soul. So feed your mind, body and soul.

The best thing for mental health and most underrated in some senses is sleep. Consistently sleeping for nine hours a night can dramatically improve any situation. It improves brain function, increases appetite, and makes you feel cuddly. So, it is in a way food for all the other food your body, mind and soul need. Basically all these things are just a sign to relax and chill out!!

Let us know in the comments what your favourite ways to look after your mind, body and soul are during the coronavirus pandemic!
